The
Conversations With Foreigners (CWF) program in the city of Phnom Penh, Cambodia offers low-cost opportunities for travelers to live and teach English in Cambodia for 3 months at a time, and for Cambodian citizens to learn English by speaking with Cambodian visitors from other countries. All of the students have a basic understanding of English and many, but not all, are secondary and college students. Volunteers are not charged a fee, but they pay their own living, transportation, and other expenses. They can either arrange their own accommodations and meals or they can stay in shared-room accommodations at the program's Volunteer house and pay about $700 for 3 months, including meals.
The CWF program is a sustainable fundraising effort benefitting the
Cambodian Rural Development Team (CRDT), a program established to improve food security, incomes, and living standards of poor rural communities in support of environmental conservation in
Cambodia. For more information about visiting Southeast Asian countries see our
